AQUAPANEL Outdoor cement board is a rectangular sheet material consisting of a core based on fine lightweight concrete, which planes (front, back, longitudinal edges, except for tip edges) are reinforced with a fiberglass mesh. The special shape of the longitudinal edge is reinforced with glass fibers.

Thanks to the reinforcing fiberglass mesh, AQUAPANEL cement board can be bent in a dry state (without preliminary moistening), with a bending radius starting from one meter. This makes it possible to use it on bent surfaces.

AQUAPANEL Outdoor can be used in buildings of various architectural and construction systems:

  • Frame-panel wooden house construction;
  • Steel frame buildings;
  • Monolithic-frame house construction;

as well as during:

  • Repair and restoration of facades;
  • Facing of exterior walls, balconies, semi-recessed balconies, finishing of foundation basements;
  • Installation of external suspended ceilings, soffits, eaves of roofs.

AQUAPANEL Outdoor is used for construction of non-bearing external frame-and-sheath walls of element-by-element installation on a steel frame with an air gap or without it.

In addition, AQUAPANEL Outdoor serves as the basis for various facade finishing options (including natural or artificial stone facing) and can be used in the heat insulation system of plaster facades.

The installation process includes the following stages of work:

  • AQUAPANEL Outdoor board cutting;
  • Installation of a metal or wooden frame;
  • Installation of boards;
  • Sealing of joints and solid plastering of the entire surface with KNAUF-Sevener plaster and glue mixture;
  • Decorative surface finishing.

Recommendations:

  • It is recommended to store boards under shelter to protect them from direct moisture ingress. Wet boards should be dried before installation;
  • The boards should be conditioned before installation. The temperature of the material and environment should be not less than +5°C;
  • The boards should be installed horizontally!
  • Stud profiles should be installed with increments of 600 mm;
  • There is an auxiliary marking on boards for convenient installation. The places for screws are marked with crosses;
  • KNAUF-Isogrund primer should be applied to the surface prior to KNAUF-Diamant facade plaster;
  • High water resistance without swelling and crumbling;
  • High resistance to fungal and mold damage;
  • Absence of harmful impurities;
  • Increased resistance to extreme weather conditions (wind, rain, snow, temperature changes, etc.);
  • Easy and quick installation;
  • Possibility of creating bent surfaces with a bending radius of up to 1 meter;
  • Technological processing;
  • Elimination of labor-intensive surface treatment processes;

Application areas

AQUAPANEL Indoor is a moisture-resistant material which provides a strong and reliable base for tiling.

AQUAPANEL Indoor is used in frame-and-sheath structures such as partitions, wall facing and suspended ceilings in humid and wet rooms.

AQUAPANEL Indoor can be used in:

  • Areas around pools in private and public sectors;
  • Finishing of kitchens and rooms, where daily wet cleaning is done;
  • Showers;
  • Car washes;
  • Laundries;
  • Garages and cellars.

The installation process includes the following stages of work:

  • AQUAPANEL Indoor board cutting;
  • Installation of a metal or wooden frame;
  • Installation of boards with the use of AQUAPANEL polyurethane adhesive for sealing joints;
  • Treatment of the entire surface with AQUAPANEL Plaster White finish mixture;
  • Decorative finishing.

  • The boards should be conditioned before installation. The temperature of the material and environment should be not less than +5°C;
  • Stud profiles should be installed with increments of 600 mm;
  • The boards should be installed horizontally!
  • There is an auxiliary marking on boards for convenient installation. The places for screws are marked with crosses;
  • Thin-layer spackling of the entire surface should be performed in order to prepare it for painting. At least 4 mm thick layer of AQUAPANEL Plaster White finish mixture should be applied on a clean substrate. Then the reinforcing mesh is embedded into a freshly applied layer with an overlap of at least 100 mm.
